Bubble Bath

It seems like most of the time we are in such a hurry at bath/shower time. It's either getting close to bedtime, or we are trying to get ready to go somewhere. Tonight after dinner I looked at Gracie and said " you need a shower girl." Right away Emmy wanted her to take a bubble bath with her. They played for over an hour before actually getting to the scrubbing/ hair washing phase. Lots of giggles and shrieks!

Saturday Afternoon Performance

Hmmm, what will the plot of this one be?

Emmy makes an early entrance.

Princess Jasmine.

The three stars of the show!

Friday Night Sleepover

Three giggly girls all piled on top of each other! The older girls are always so sweet to little Emmy and include her in their fun.

Then it's time for some quiet relaxation! Gracie loves having her friend Jordan stay the night. They are really growing up...

Bounce and Slide

We had a fun afternoon play date with our friends from the MOM's Club. The kids ran, jumped and climbed until they were exhausted and the mom's fit in lots of "girl talk." We tried out a new place in Smithfield called Tag Ur It! A great experience we plan to repeat.

Emmy sitting still "just" long enough for me to snap a picture.

It's a long way to the top.

But the ride down makes it worth it! She must have done this 10 or more times right in a row. She had a very sweaty little head.

A Trip To The Wax Museum

Each year the Second Graders host a Wax Museum as a fundraiser. Each child chooses a famous American that they would like to portray. Then they need to come up with a costume, write and memorize a speech containing facts about their character and make a poster board with pictures and highlights of their life. Their desks are placed in a row around the edge of the classroom. Each child stands behind their desk and a cup is placed on the desk for donations that "activate" the character. Upon money being put in the cup the "famous person" stands up, recites their speech and then sits down and is silent until the next donation is dropped in the cup.

Gracie listening to Charles Lindbergh aka Jackson.

Rocky listening to Abraham Lincoln aka Collin.

Gracie listening to Adam Savage aka Ryan

Rocky and Emmy listening to Sacagawea aka Hope.

My Little Artist

Gracie's Dr. Seuss painting was chosen to be displayed in the front hall of her school.

Catching A Catnap in the Closet

Apparently Oreo has a new favorite hideout... on the shelf, underneath the clothes in Emmy's closet.

Family Game Night

Several weeks ago our family started reserving Tuesday nights as a night to play our favorite games together. We finish dinner and dishes and then either bring a board game down from the game closet or head up to the family room to play a Wii game. So far, we have played Memory, Twister, Wii bowling and Wii golf. Now that Emmy is old enough to participate, the four of us have a great time together and lots of laughs! The girls love to try and come in ahead of Mommy and Daddy whenever possible.

All in a Row!

I had gone into the kitchen to start cleaning up the dishes and Emily was still finishing her dinner. When I came back into the room she said, "I'm lining up all of my chicks Mommy". Maybe she heard them say, "Pea-p!"

Happy Valentine's Day!

Very intently filling out her Valentine Cards for her teachers and classmates.

After dinner Daddy and I gave the girls their sweet treats!

An Evening at the Circus!

The elephant painted a picture with his trunk!

This was Gracie's first time to go to the circus. Looks like she is enjoying it, right?!

Cotton Candy! A favorite of Gracie's.

The beautiful American Flag. So thankful to live in this great country.

A refreshing Snow Cone at intermission.

During the pre-show the girls tried on some "circus wear" and took their picture with one of performers.

Emily seems to like the Cotton Candy too!

The four of us. Good Times!

Seven, yes, SEVEN motorcycles riding around the inside of this metal cage at one time!

Emmy had her eye on this horse from the start! Yes, we now own it :) Gracie chose a boomerang.

A breath of fresh air!

"Here Mom, this is for you!"

Run Emmy Run!

Letting go is a hard thing for a Daddy to do.

A stop at the neighborhood park after Gracie rode her bike.
